THE Club was formally established in 1995 by a group of penny-farthing
enthusiasts in New South Wales; a small collective had been meeting
regularly for many years, for the purposes of an interchange of
information on restoration techniques. The group appreciated the
need for an information medium among the owners of PF bicycles
and replicas, after seeing much repitition and duplication of
effort, mainly due to the lack of co-ordination of resources,
documentation and communication.
Formation of the Club has enabled the marshalling of collective
skills and resources of members, to provide PF riders for the
various events and displays held throughout the State and to satisfy
the need for assistance with bike-building projects. It is an
aim of the Club to provide an on-going and proactive source for
technical advice to new and experienced riders.
